HP means High Pressure and a HP braai works directly off a gas cartridge. Low Pressure (LP) braais work off a gas cylinder and can be connected with a regulator & hose.
To enjoy your CADAC product for a longer, we advise you to thoroughly clean it after each use. Use a full-length, UV-resistant cover when you do not use your braai. Note that our covers are water resistant but not 100% waterproof. Put camping/portable braais in storage bags after use and clean. You can also use the CADAC braai cleaner and stainless steel polish.
Chromed grid:
Clean the grid in water with some detergent. When the grid got encrusted you can soak it for a night in water before you clean it.
Enamelled grid:
The enamelled grid is easy to clean with some water and detergent. Never use scourers, abrasives or metal tools as this can damage the enamelling. You can also use the CADAC braai cleaner; an effective cleaner to clean all chrome and enamelled parts of the braai.
Most of our cooking surfaces (like the paella pans and braai grids) have our GreenGrill ceramic non-stick coating. Always use wooden or plastic utensils to avoid damaging this coating. You can clean the surfaces in warm water with a soft sponge or dishwashing brush. You can also use the CADAC cleaner. Never use scourers, abrasives or metal tools.
On our website you can find the available cooking tops / accessories that can be used on our braais. All the cooking tops and accessories will show which braais it can be used on. When you’re not sure which type of CADAC braai you have, please send us an email to info@cadac.co.za with a picture of your braai, so our customer service can advice you.
First check if the burner, the gas valve and hose are free from dust, and then if the gas valve on the gas bottle is open. If your grill has a piezo ignition, you can easily check whether the defect is in this piezo ignition: In case you can light your braai with a long match, it is likely that the piezo ignition is defect. (Note: the piezo ignition of the BraaiMaxx runs on batteries. Replace the batteries and check again if the piezo ignition works).

When you connect a hose to your braai, we recommend to perform a leak test. Always do this outdoors! Prepare a mixture of water (1 part) and detergent (1 part) and spread it on the gas connection. Turn the gas on then. When bubbles appear on the connection, there’s a gas leak. You must reconnect the hose. Always close the gas supply of the cylinder/cartridge before you close the gas supply of your braai. If the bubbles appear again in a second test, please contact your CADAC dealer.
On this website you can find manuals of the most common models under the “Customer Support” menu. If the manual you need is not in this list, you can send us an email to info@cadac.co.za and we will send it to you.
We offer a 5-year limited warranty on most of our patio braais and a 2-year warranty on most of our camping braais. Please check packaging/manual for warranty. If you want to know if your defect or damage is covered by the warranty, please submit a warranty request via our website. You can also send an email to info@cadac.co.za for further information.
